Preventative Pet Care in Chattanooga, TN
Pet Wellness Care for Dogs & Cats
At Lookout Valley Veterinary Clinic we focus on preventive healthcare to stop common diseases and disorders before they start. Combined with regular wellness exams, pet vaccinations and parasite prevention are the foundation of your pet’s preventive healthcare plan.
Our team will work with you to create a custom preventive care plan for your cat or dog. We utilize a vaccination schedule based on the guidelines of the American Animal Hospital Association, our years of experience, and the individual needs of your pet.
Wellness Exam
First, we start with a physical exam to assess your pet’s outward health (and oral health) for any sign of problems. With every annual exam, we'll become more familiar with your pet.
Diagnostics
Next, we suggest blood and fecal testing to screen for parasites and diseases and better diagnose your pet's health. This gives us a more complete picture of your pet’s overall condition and, if necessary, we can suggest treatment to help.
Vaccinations
Vaccines are another key aspect of your pet’s wellness care. Our veterinarians will always recommend vaccines that best suit your pet’s lifestyle, along with a schedule to keep them on track.
Education
With concern for your pet's health, collaboration is always key. During your visit, we'll answer any questions you have to ensure that we're both on the same page regarding their care.

Proactive Care for a Healthier Pet
Today, pets live longer, healthier lives than ever before—in part because of immunizations that protect from infectious disease. Vaccines against dangerous diseases have saved millions of pets and virtually eliminated some fatal diseases that were once quite common. However, infectious diseases still pose a threat to dogs and cats that are left unvaccinated, so vaccines are a must!
A successful vaccine plan and keeping your pet up-to-date on their vaccinations is important. We understand that your pet is unique and that no single vaccine program will be ideal for every pet in every situation or emergency. We will consider all these factors as we determine which vaccines your pet should have based on his or her risk.
Our goal is to give you the best advice for keeping your pet healthy and our doctors and other staff members are well-educated about veterinary vaccines.
